I applied for Virtual Foreign Exchange because I am interested in other countries cultures and their lives style. Since I can’t afford to go to the other countries this community would be the best internet platform for me to resolve all of wonders and questions in a safe environment. I could also use this platform to gain knowledge in a way such as: communcation, networking, and cultural exposure from other people all around the world.
This is the first ever beach ultimate in Cambodia. I am really lucky that I was a part of it. In addition, the best part of the trip was learning new skills from the other people and also get to know more people that have the same interests as me. As I played more and more I have a better understanding of the spirit of the game. I really like how at the end of the game, both teams came together and create a spirit circle to speak about what you like and what you don’t about the game. I can’t wait to attend this event again next year.
Surrounded by tourists and aside to the ocean, the game of frisbee was being played. Frisbee is a new sport in Cambodia, people that were watching had interest and were curious about the sport. Many asked about it and few sat under shades and enjoyed the game.
It is killing me watching the Cambodian elders who have no eyes vision. They could not appreciate the view of the environment around them, they can not see people who they love. When volunteered for the Khmer Sight Foundation, I put my full effort to help those elders in my community to do an eye check and get better eyesight. The patients were mostly older people with age around 50-60 years old and they got cataract which causes their eyes sight to lose. For those people who have eyes cataract, we talked to them and ask them kindly to get an eye surgery to help improve their vision. But our challenge was, those old people need to work, and take care of their grandchildren, so they resisted not to go with to the hospital. When faced this problem, our team were trying to convince them in every possible way for them to change their mind. Throughout the whole morning, we had been very successful and I felt so great helping those Cambodian elders. In addition, by volunteering in this event, it helped me to wonder and do more research about the knowledge of human’s eyes.
In this last term before the Christmas break, we are learning how to write a poem and song. The theme of the poems should be related to the society and leave a message in the reader’s mind.
Currently, I am working on many different topics, but the one that I really like is the poem that I wrote about teenagers that avoid school and use drugs.

In class today, We did a fun activity on writing Halloween scary story. In this activity, we first started with own story but with a limited time to write, and after a few minutes, we need to rotate our stories around for other friends to continue your story. It was so much fun, in the meantime, we were also being creative in writing those stories.

Usually, there are a lot of home works on the weekends, so instead of being stress with it, I am doing Khmer dance to keep me relax, have fun, and forget about all the school works. In addition, Cambodia lost a lot of their culture because of the influence from the foreign countries. I believe that in participating in the Khmer dance class would help me to understand about my culture and also preserve it from faded its value.
I have never tried doing computer science before in the previous school years. In this year I decided to do AP computer science. This is a move for me because taking advance placement means that I need to put a lot of time and effort to it and might distract me from other classes. But I think I could do it and I want to experience something new, but so far I really like the class.

I and another two friends of mine are working on a grant writing project. In this project, we are focusing on making the grant template which the Liger Leadership Academy could use when they write for the grant. In addition, we are working on a grant to fund our project that is trying to build computer science lab for the remote school in Cambodia.
I am not a person, who in love in doing art neither technology but when these two ideas combine together, by using technology to display art, I really like it. This is my new expertise of the school year. Currently, in Creative Technology class, we are learning how to program javascript using Johny Five and working on a project of building a robot car.

I have trained basketball for about 2 years with my coach and all of my Liger’s friends. Most of Liger students are really athletics. A day before the holiday, we had a basketball competition against an international school called ICAN. We tried really hard, and every one of us was doing great. Although we tried really hard, we still lost the game.
A year later we had a rematched and I hit three points winning shot. The score was 17 – 16. Everyone was so excited and, I was so excited.
